Yes. Ceiling & Wall Planks are very easy to handle and install. See our written Installation Manuals for the recommended best practices for each type.
The 'Quick-Lock' feature refers to the fact that the planks are end-matched with a Tongue and Groove (T&G) profile that interlocks on ALL 4 edges (2 long sides + 2 short ends) eliminating the need for the butt-joints/seams to be placed on a ceiling joist or wall stud.
The resulting benefit is a Quick & Easy, Tight-Fitting, Low-Waste installation which reduces cutting and labor and can be blind nailed to conceal all fasteners.
Yes. All of the Ceiling & Wall Plank products are proudly made in the USA.
Yes. All of the Ceiling & Wall Planks are available pre-finished. Please see the specific product pages for the available finishes for each.
Yes. There is no issue in doing so, however consult with your local building department, as drywall may be a code requirement in certain circumstances.
Yes. Ceiling & Wall Planks (including MDF*) can be used in “dry” exterior applications (i.e. no direct contact with wet weather like rain or snow). For example on a porch ceiling where they will be exposed to temperature and humidity changes, but never get wet.
If you need planks that can withstand direct contact with wet weather see our Waterproof Barnwood Planks which carry a 10 year warranty.
*We recommend that the MDF Planks be sealed on the back (if not already factory primed on back) and painted with an exterior-grade paint on the front when used in these types of applications.
Yes. We offer a variety of faux wood beam Sample Kit options HERE
*The cost of the Sample Kit you purchase will be credited towards your faux wood beam order.
Yes. All of the Ceiling & Wall Planks can be installed on any vaulted, cathedral or angled type ceilings.
Due to our commitment to manufacturing and providing our customers with the best products possible, Tilton Coffered Ceilings, Inc. does not provide any installation services. However, all of our products have been designed with the ease of installation in mind and so they may be installed by both DIYers and professionals alike.
Only our Faux Wood Ceiling & Wall Planks are available with a Fire-Rated option to meet any fire-code requirements your project may have.
No. Due to the proprietary color formulation and application process, providing touch-up stain or paint is not possible. Consult with a paint professional at your local retailer to have a custom stain or paint color mixed to suits your needs.
No. However, complimenting trim can be made by cutting the Ceiling & Wall Planks into the required widths and lengths needed. Otherwise, we recommend using moldings and trim of a contrasting color and/or finish (i.e. moldings or trim painted white).
The easiest way to measure for Ceiling & Wall Planks is by using the square foot method. To calculate the square footage simply measure the length of your ceiling or wall and multiply it by the width. Add up all the walls and/or ceilings you would like to cover and deduct for any window or door openings to determine the exact square footage. Then add 15% to allow for waste.
The Ceiling & Wall Planks weigh in at just 1 – 1.25 pounds per linear foot, which translates to about 8-10 pounds per 8ft plank and 16-20 pounds per 16ft plank.
Yes. Most Ceiling & Wall Planks have a 200 square foot Minimum Order Requirement (MOQ) while the Waterproof Barnwood Planks have a 1000 square foot MOQ and the Cedar Planks all have a 400 square foot MOQ. However, you may mix and match plank sizes and/or colors of the same type to meet the minimum.
Check the product page to verify the MOQ for the type of plank you wish to order.
