The Tilton Box Beam Coffered Ceiling System can be terminated (finished around the outermost perimeter) in one of the following two methods or in a combination of these methods (i.e. three sides using method #1 and one side using method #2):
Termination into the surrounding walls is the most common configuration used to terminate a coffered ceiling and is the default option for all Tilton Box Beam Ceiling designs. In this configuration the outermost Perimeter Beams meet with the perpendicular face of the surrounding walls and are completed with an optional Perimeter Molding to create a neat fit and finish.
Termination into the ceiling is less common, but an often necessary configuration used to finish the perimeter of a coffered ceiling. This configuration is used when the existing crown/cornice moldings cannot be removed or when there are no surrounding perpendicular wall surfaces or headers to terminate into. This is the standard termination style for all of our Pre-Designed Box Beam Ceiling Systems.
If your project requires the Termination Into The Ceiling option on all or some sides please let us know so that we can assist you in properly planning for it.
