Will a faux wood beam mantel crack, warp, or split like real wood can?
No. High-density urethane is dimensionally stable and does not experience the same seasonal movement as natural wood, helping the mantel resist cracking, warping, splitting, and cupping. This provides the character of a timber mantel without many of the changes associated with aging solid wood.
