Faux wood beams are significantly more stable than real wood. They will expand and contract about half as much as solid wood when exposed to changes in temperature and humidity.
Because faux wood beams are made from high density urethane (HDU), they resist warping, cracking and splitting, making them a more dimensionally stable option for both interior and exterior applications.
