CAN THE BOX BEAM COFFERED CEILING SYSTEM BE INSTALLED IN A SUSPENDED TYPE APPLICATION?
The Box Beam Coffered Ceiling System was designed as a permanent application in which the coffer modules are secured to the ceiling with lag screws driven into the ceiling framing (i.e. the joists or trusses). The system can also be installed directly over concrete ceilings using masonry anchors with the same lag screws.
However, suspended type applications are certainly possible and we have had customers who have devised their own methods for suspending the system, but we do not currently offer any specific instructions and/or the hardware for doing so.
