CAN ACCENT LIGHTING BE USED WITH THE BOX BEAM COFFERED CEILING SYSTEM?
Yes, accent lighting (i.e. rope lighting, back lighting) can be used with our Box Beam Coffered Ceiling System utilizing one of the following 2 options we currently offer:
- Floating Crown Molding – We can set the Crown Molding to have a space between the top edge of it and the ceiling panel to allow for LED rope/strip lighting to be inserted and to illuminate out from behind it.
- Light Rail Molding – We can install a light rail molding below the crown molding that has a dado on the top edge to allow for LED strip lighting to be inserted in it and to illuminate the face of the crown molding.
The accent lighting fixture of choice (i.e. rope light, strip light, LED, incandescent etc.) will need to be installed in the field. This is easily done prior to installing the Beam Bottom Boards of the system. For example; All of the wiring and any necessary transformers for the accent lighting can be routed and installed in the hollow cavities of the Beams before capping them off with the included Beam Bottom Boards.
