Termination Options – Shallow Beam Ceiling

The Tilton Shallow Beam Coffered Ceiling Kit can be terminated (finished or ended around the outermost perimeter) in one of the following 2 ways to allow for the best ceiling beam idea under various circumstances:

1. TERMINATION INTO THE SURROUNDING WALLS

Termination into the surrounding walls is the most common configuration used to terminate a coffered ceiling and is the standard configuration for all Tilton Shallow Beam Ceiling Kits. In this configuration the outermost Perimeter Beams meet with the face of the surrounding walls and are then finished with an included Perimeter Molding to create a neat fit and finish.

2. TERMINATION INTO THE CEILING

Termination into the ceiling is less common, but still a viable and sometimes necessary configuration used to finish the perimeter of a coffered ceiling. This configuration is used when there are no surrounding perpendicular wall surfaces or headers to terminate into. It may also be used when the coffered ceiling treatment is not covering the entire ceiling surface.
