TERMINATION TYPES – Shallow Beam Coffered Ceiling Kits
TERMINATION TYPE OPTIONS FOR YOUR SHALLOW BEAM COFFERED CEILING
Tilton Shallow Beam Coffered Ceiling Kits can be terminated (finished around the outermost perimeter) in one of the following two methods or in a combination of these methods (i.e. three sides using method #1 and one side using method #2):
1. TERMINATION INTO THE SURROUNDING WALLS
Termination into the surrounding walls is the most common configuration used to terminate a coffered ceiling and is the standard termination option for all of our Custom Fit Shallow Beam Kits. In this configuration the outermost Perimeter Beams meet with the face of the surrounding walls and are completed with an optional Perimeter Molding to create a neat fit and finish.
2. TERMINATION INTO THE CEILING
Termination into the ceiling is less common, but an often necessary configuration used to finish the perimeter of a coffered ceiling. This configuration is used when the existing crown/cornice moldings cannot be removed or when there are no surrounding perpendicular wall surfaces or headers to terminate into. This is the standard termination style for all of our Shallow Beam Ceiling Medallion Kits.
