HDU – Box Beam Ceiling
HDU COFFERED CEILING SYSTEMS
HDU (High Density Urethane)
HDU millwork is made of a specially formulated polyurethane polymer. The density is similar to white pine and it can be cut, sawn, shaped, routed, nailed, and screwed just like wood. Advantages over MDF and wood ceiling materials include a surface which will not crack, flake, or blister and a product which is resistant to water, mold, mildew, and insects.
In Comparison to MDF & Wood Box Beam Coffered Ceilings, Our HDU Material Option Offers Several Distinct Advantages Such As:
- A Significant Reduction in Cost
- A Significant Reduction in Weight
- Fully Pre-Primed at No Additional Cost
- A Reduction of Seams in the Pre-Assembled Components
- Elimination of Nail Holes in the Pre-Assembled Components
- Available with No Ceiling Panel as Standard (to allow for existing light fixtures & A/C vents to remain in place)
Ceiling Beams made of HDU are often referred to as “faux beams” so some might say our HDU option is a faux coffered ceiling. But make no mistake about it, our HDU ceiling systems are every bit as authentic in detail and craftsmanship as their MDF & Wood counterparts. Plus you get the added benefits as mentioned above.
